The Smart Textiles Platform Austria contributed to the Vorarlberg Innovation Report 2026, published by WISTO (Wirtschafts-Standort Vorarlberg GmbH). The contribution highlighted the role of the platform as an interdisciplinary innovation network connecting companies, research institutions, and stakeholders along the entire smart textiles value chain. The report presented the platform’s activities in fostering the development and market implementation of functional and intelligent textile solutions through networking, technology transfer, knowledge exchange, and collaborative innovation projects.
Particular emphasis was placed on the platform’s services, including the initiation of cross-sector partnerships, organization of workshops and events, support for technology transfer, access to development and testing infrastructure, and assistance in transforming innovative ideas into market-oriented applications. The contribution also showcased the importance of smart textiles as an emerging technology field with significant potential for creating new business opportunities and strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem.
