How can knowledge and practical experience strengthen Austria’s advanced materials community?
On 2 June 2026, around 20 participants came together at FH-Technikum Vienna for a training session organised by AM-Austria, focusing on occupational safety and surface treatment.
The event combined expert presentations with an insight into the research infrastructure at FH-Technikum Vienna. Prof. Dr. Judith Klamert-Schmid and Prof. Erich Markl (see pictures) welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of collaboration and knowledge transfer. DI Dr. Albert Benoni then introduced the FH-Technikum and guided participants through the “Material Science & Mechanical Systems” Competence Centre.
The technical training was delivered by experts from the AM-Austria network: DI Ewald Babka of Babka Konsult e.U. and Thomas Gruber of Trivion GmbH. Their practical expertise provided valuable insights and stimulated discussions among participants.
For ATIMA, knowledge transfer and connecting expertise are at the heart of building a strong advanced materials ecosystem. Training activities like this provide an important platform for sharing experience, strengthening networks and fostering future collaboration.
