From 28-30 June 2026, the SuSChemE-Sustens2 conference in Athens, Greece, brought together experts to discuss pathways towards a more sustainable and climate-neutral future. A dedicated Industrial Day focused on industry perspectives and the innovation ecosystem needed to achieve Net Zero targets, a topic highly relevant for the future of circular Advanced Materials (AdMa).
As part of ATIMA’s efforts to strengthen collaboration across the European Advanced Materials ecosystem, the event provided an excellent opportunity to connect with the SusChem Community (SCC) and SusChem-AT and exchange perspectives on sustainability challenges shared by the materials and chemical sectors.
Representatives of the Austrian community actively contributed to the programme, including co-organizing, chairing and presenting in the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) session, as well as implementing the SCC open and closed sessions.
The conference highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration between chemistry and materials communities to accelerate the transition towards sustainable, circular and innovative technologies.
