During the STS Conference 2026, held on 4–5 May in Graz, Austria, ATIMA actively participated in the session discussions as part of the Austrian advanced materials community. The conference provided a platform to exchange perspectives on science, technology, and society, with a particular focus on responsible innovation and future-oriented material development.

ATIMA highlighted its role in fostering a European and international ecosystem for Safe and Sustainable by Design advanced materials. Through contributions by Andreas Falk (BNN), the initiative’s efforts to connect stakeholders, support collaboration, and strengthen cross-border exchange were emphasized.

In addition, ATIMA’s engagement underlined its commitment to advancing responsible innovation in line with ethical foresight and Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) principles. These activities are aligned with both global (INISS-nano) and local objectives, reinforcing the importance of coordinated action across different governance levels.

The participation at STS Conference 2026 further strengthened ATIMA’s visibility within the international research and policy community and supported ongoing dialogue on how advanced materials can be developed and applied in a safe, sustainable, and socially responsible manner.
