From 8-10 June 2026, the NEXT3D congress in St. Georgen im Schwarzwald, Germany, brought together experts from across Europe to explore the latest developments in industrial additive manufacturing.
With its strong focus on practical applications, the event combined expert presentations with a hands-on exhibition featuring 3D printers in live operation, 3D-printed plastic tool inserts for series production, and demonstrations of advanced post-processing techniques such as chemical smoothing, surface compaction and industrial colouring.
A key contribution came from AM-Austria’s president Dr. Johannes Gartner, who presented “Politics and Manufacturing: The Future of Additive Manufacturing in the EU”, addressing the broader European context and future perspectives for the sector.
NEXT3D also provided an excellent opportunity for European networking and knowledge exchange – and for ATIMA to promote its key messages and strengthen its connections within the additive manufacturing community.
