The FFG-funded project ATIMA (“Mobilisierung und Vernetzung von nationalen Plattformen zum Thema „Advanced and Innovative Materials“ in Österreich”) started on 1 November 2024. On 11 November, all project partners, Additive Manufacturing Austria (AM-Austria), ASMET Research GmbH, Business Upper Austria (BIZ-UP), BioNanoNet Forschungsgesellschaft mbH (BNN), nanoNET Austria, and V-trion, key players in the field of Advanced and Innovative Materials, met at the premises of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK) to kick off the project.
ATIMA brings together Austria’s most established technology platforms in the fields of Nanotechnology (BNN, nanoNET-Austria), Lightweight Construction (A2LT), Additive Manufacturing (AM-Austria), Metallurgy (ASMET), and Smart Textiles in order to enable cross-platform collaboration to strengthen Austria’s research expertise nationally and internationally, in cooperation with European technology platforms and global standardisation organisations, and to promote the exploration, networking, and mobilisation of future-relevant materials and technologies.
Special thanks to the BMK representatives Michael Wiesmüller and Alexander Pogany for attending the meeting and their continuous support and engagement to facilitate a strong Austrian community in this important technology field.
Over the next two years, ATIMA will foster synergies that will strengthen Austria’s innovation capabilities and essential skills, through strategic collaboration across disciplines and the creation of unique interfaces, while supporting innovation and laying the foundation for economic, scientific, and societal progress.
