On 1 December 2025, ATIMA actively contributed to the AC-Styria Business Breakfast in Graz, dedicated to current developments and applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the materials sector. The event gathered industry representatives, researchers, and technology providers to discuss future-oriented approaches in materials production and application.

A keynote presentation by Gerhard Hackl (ASMET), titled “The Use of AI in Materials Development and Materials Production,” demonstrated how AI methods are applied along the entire materials value chain. The presentation highlighted data-driven models for predicting material properties, optimizing alloys, simulating complex manufacturing processes, and accelerating design and production strategies. Practical industrial examples further illustrated these applications.

Key prerequisites for successful AI implementation were also addressed, including high-quality data availability, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the integration of AI solutions into existing development and production workflows. In addition, Gerhard Hackl moderated a group work session, fostering exchange on integrating digital tools into industrial materials strategies.

Through its active involvement, ATIMA strengthened its role as a knowledge provider in AI-driven materials innovation and increased its visibility in the Graz economic region, underlining its relevance in modern AI-supported materials development.
