The Medical.Materials 2026 event, held on 23 June 2026 in Linz, brought together around 40 experts from industry and research to explore current developments in medical materials and advanced manufacturing technologies. The program addressed key topics such as smart textiles, biosensors, wearable technologies, and applications in wound healing, highlighting the increasing convergence of material innovation and medical applications. 

Within this context, Veronika Miron (Business Upper Austria) introduced the ATIMA project and Andreas Falk (BNN) delivered an oral presentation on “Advanced Materials” as a driver for innovation, explicitly integrating the ATIMA project into the discussion. His contribution emphasized the role of advanced and innovative materials as an enabling factor for next-generation medical technologies, underlining ATIMA’s importance in fostering cross-sector collaboration, strengthening the advanced materials ecosystem, and supporting the transfer of innovative material solutions into real-world healthcare applications.
