The Smart Textiles User Forum, organized by TITV Greiz, is a specialized industry and research event dedicated to the latest developments, innovations, and application scenarios in the field of smart textiles. It brings together key stakeholders from academia, industry, and applied research to exchange knowledge on emerging technologies, materials, and system integration approaches.
The Smart Textiles Platform Austria was represented by Tobias Berchtold and Günter Grabher. As part of the program, Tobias Berchtold delivered a presentation highlighting current activities, developments, and competencies within the Austrian smart textiles’ ecosystem. The participation enabled active engagement with international experts and facilitated in-depth discussions on technological trends, application requirements, and future development directions in areas such as functional textiles, sensor integration, and wearable systems.
In addition to the presentation, bilateral discussions with potential partners and research institutions were conducted to explore collaboration opportunities and identify synergies for future projects. The event provided valuable insights into current challenges and innovation needs within the smart textiles’ domain, particularly regarding scalability, integration, and application-specific requirements.
The activity directly contributes to the objectives of the ATIMA project by strengthening international networking between research and industry stakeholders, fostering knowledge and technology transfer, and increasing the visibility of Austrian expertise in advanced materials and smart textiles. Furthermore, the exchange of information and identification of emerging trends supports the initiation of future collaborative research and innovation activities aligned with ATIMA’s strategic goals.
