ASMET is a not profit-oriented association. Its purpose is to engage with metallurgy, materials science, and related processes in scientific, technical, and economic fields while strictly adhering to all antitrust regulations.

The objectives of the association are achieved through the following measures:

• Collaboration: Development, production, and processing of steel, non-ferrous metals, special ceramic materials, and refractory materials.
• Cooperation: Working and coordinating activities with national and international associations and institutions that have corresponding synergies with the association’s goals.
• Committees and Project Groups: Conducting collaborative work in specialized committees and project groups.
• Student Section: Organizing student members to promote their studies and vocational training.
• Continuing Education: Promoting the continuing education of employed members, supporting young engineers, and influencing the education of students in relevant fields.
• Events: Organizing lectures and meetings to exchange technical experience, discuss developments in relevant fields, and maintain personal relationships.
• Knowledge Dissemination: Publishing technical and technical-scientific knowledge and significant results of collaborative work in the “Berg- und Hüttenmännischen Monatsheften”.
